Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action to ratify an agreement for the engagement of the law firm of Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP to represent Williamson County, Texas and County Employee Phillipe Dalton in relation to Cause No. 25-2906-C480; Dupree Xavier Allen v. American Honda Finance, Corp., et al.; In the 480th Judicial District Court of Williamson County, Texas; and exemption of these services from the competitive bid/proposal requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Texas Local Government Code § 262.024(a)(4); and further find that funding such agreement serves a public interest and not merely a private interest, and that any alleged act or omission of said party in relation to the allegations asserted in this lawsuit was performed while acting in good faith and within the scope of the party's official duties as an employee of Williamson County (per Texas Attorney General Opinion DM-0488).
