Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a policy exception for a new hire for the Sheriff's office effective 1/1/2021.
Background
I have submitted this item by request of Sheriff elect Mike Gleason. He would like to onboard his Chief Deputy at the same rate as the current Chief Deputy, $132,705.30. Policy allows a hire at 15% over minimum for external hires which would be $110,778.49 for a B.40. There would be no fiscal impact, as the money is already budgeted on the position.
