Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the Letter of Authorization for a Frontier Authorized Agent; FreeIT Data Solutions, and authorizing the execution of the letter.

The County originally contracted with FreeIT Data Solutions for Ethernet Access at 911 Tracy Chambers Ln. in Georgetown. This was approved by Commissioner's Court on 7/21/2020 that covers a term of 60 months. The actual service was to be provided by Frontier. Payment was made in full to FreeIT with CARES funding. Due to an issue with billing, the county was sent an invoice directly rather than through FreeIT.  This letter of authorization allows FreeIT to pay the invoice and the county to be reimbursed for the amount directly paid. Currently, the total amount that has been billed directly to the county is $14,033.33, this is the amount that will be reimbursed as it was paid with regular county funds. The letter of authorization comes at the county’s request to keep the billing/invoicing in conformity with CARES Act funding, and it only applies to this account/services that are being funded with CARES Act monies. This will allow the billing to remain separate. Approved contract and Letter of Authorization are attached. Legal and contract audit have reviewed the Letter of Authorization.
