Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on Social Service Finding Agreement between Williamson County and the United Way for Greater Austin, funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to assist in payment of health care services for uninsured legal residents of Williamson County identified with breast cancer. 

Due to the increase of women delaying mammograms during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commissioners Court approved allocations through ARPA funding for breast cancer screening and treatment for uninsured individuals identified with breast cancer, who are at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level.  Originally, Lone Star Circle of Care was going to be contracting agency to manage the breast cancer program.  Lone Star Circle of Care is now recommending that the United Way for Greater Austin be the contracting agency, who will oversee the breast cancer program. 

Under this new arrangement, United Way will contract with Lone Star for screening, case management and some medical care.  Additionally, United Way will handle the contracting with oncologist and other breast cancer providers, freeing up Lone Star to focus on the patient rather than administration.
