Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB #22IFB39 CR 111 (Westinghouse Road) and CR 110 North to Capital Excavation and authorizing the execution of the agreement. Funding Source is P292.

The Purchasing Department solicited sealed bids for IFB #22IFB39 CR 111 (Westinghouse Road) and CR 110 North.  Fifty-One (51) suppliers participated in the solicitation of which two (2) suppliers submitted a bid. The bids have been reviewed and the apparent low bid (Capital Excavation) was found to be responsive and materially balanced. Capital Excavation was $160,636.42 lower than the Engineers Estimate, a cost savings of 0.8%. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Capital Excavation is currently the Contractor on North Mays Extension project and has successfully completed past projects for Williamson County including County Road 300/301, County Road 214, and Ronald Reagan South Phase I. Based on the quality of work performed by the Contractor and favorable working relationship with the County and its Representatives, we therefor concur with the recommendation of the Design Engineer, Steger Bizzell, for award of the CR 111 Westinghouse Rd construction contract to Capital Excavation in the contract amount of $21,024,332.88. Department Point of Contact will be Pat Womack.
