Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 9 in the amount of $182,754.00 for Project 3866 Forest North Phase III (DeNucci Constructors), a Road Bond project in Commissioner Pct. 1 P:225 Funding Source: Road Bond.

This Change Order provides the interim balancing for the overrun of Contract quantities on the project paid for by Williamson County.  The overruns were a result of addressing field conditions not accounted for in the original plans.   

Explanation of overruns:
Item 462-6002 CONC BOX CULV (4FT X 3FT) – The box culvert was lengthened to reduce the length of an open drainage channel located between two residences.

Item 467-6363 SET (TY II)(18IN)(RCP)(6:1)(P) – Sloped end treatments were changed to 6:1 slopes from 4:1 slopes. The reduction in quantity for the 4:1 SET’s will be documented in a future change order. 

Item 400-WC01 CUT & RESTORE PAV (ADDED WIDTH) – This item is being added to compensate the Contractor for repairs to the existing pavement adjacent to the pipe trench repairs. The pavement was in such poor condition that the pavement was damaged during routine pipe installation procedures at no fault of the contractor. The additional width was repaired during the trench repair operation. 

This Change Order results in a net increase of $182,754.00 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $5,103,631.74. The original Contract amount was $4,793,058.15. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, $310,573.59 has been added to the Contract, resulting in a 6.48% net increase in the overall Contract cost. No time will be added to the Contract for this Change Order.
