9:30 am Conduct public hearing related to a request from the County Manager's Office to add additional funding for new positions approved during the FY2025 Budget Process from Non-Departmental to the Death Inquest Departmental Budget for the position of Death Inquest Investigators (2) and Senior Death Inquest Investigators (2) and discuss (1) the reason for the funding transfer, including the public purpose that will be served by transferring the funding; and (2) the exact amount of the funding transfer, the sources of the payment, and the terms for distribution of the payment that effect and maintain the public purpose to be served if any excess is needed.

1. The reason for the funding transfer is to a) reclassify all four positions based on current job descriptions and fund at the minimums of each grade and b) approve additional funding on two positions as attached for experienced applicants in senior roles. Both the reclassification and additional funding request would be within policy. The public will be well served by the role these positions will play in establishing an experienced team.
2. The funding to be transferred is $47,827.06 (details attached), which will be paid through the normal bi-weekly payroll. This is a new department, and the public would be well served by allowing us to move forward to hiring candidates with direct related experience within like roles.
