Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on authorizing the appointment of Williamson County Sheriff's Office, ACO Leigh Parsons, to be designated as the Local Rabies Control Authority (LRCA) effective April 1, 2025 for the purposes of the Rabies Control Act of 1981.
Background
We are recommending the appointment of Animal Control Officer Leigh Parsons as the Local Rabies Control Authority. Currently Livestock Deputy Blake Hartt has been serving as the Local Rabies Control Authority on a temporary basis since February 6, 2024. ACO Parsons completed the proper coursework on July 13, 2023 to be eligible for the LRCA appointment.
