The proposed roadway closure and detour of Sonterra Boulevard, at the intersection of IH 35 NB Frontage Road, is necessary to create a safer work zone and expedite construction of the roadway intersection project. Allowing the intersection to be closed will accelerate the construction timeline significantly; it will also create a safer work zone for the contractor and field teams, and will allow the contractor to place materials in one step instead of in pieces. This intersection has heavy truck traffic making tight right turns, which would hinder work zone activities and risk safety.

The closure will start on or around 9/15/2025 and will continue for approximately 6 weeks. The additional time traveling the detour is approximately one minute.
