Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding $253,415.70 in funding assistance to the City of Granger.
Background
The City of Granger is constructing a waterline to their new high school. Significant construction challenges have resulted in cost overruns exceeding the city’s current capacity to fund the final change order required to complete the project. The requested amount of $253,415.70 allows the project to be completed. The email below is from the City of Granger’s City Engineer outlining the fiscal costs and shortfall.

Mr. Daigh,
After meeting with the contractor, we have negotiated and agreed upon a new final change order amount of $323,415.70. The Union Pacific observation and flagging costs are an additional $50,000, for a total project completion cost of $373,415.70. We currently have approximately $120,000 remaining in the project budget, resulting in a project shortfall of $253,415.70. The City of Granger requests the help of Williamson County to help offset these costs if possible. We thank you for any help you can provide.
