Information
Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on participation in the County's Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for a portion of the Brushy Creek Trail Extension Project, in Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas.
Public Background
The Brushy Creek Trail Extension Project is over Karst Zone 1, areas known to contain endangered karst invertebrates. Participation in the regional habitat conservation plan will provide incidental take coverage for listed species on the eastern end of the proposed project north of Brushy Creek. The biological opinion rendered under consultation 2026-0020455 provides incidental take for other listed species known to the area as well as previous enrollments for Saul's East & West. This enrollment will complete the coverage necessary for the project. Staff recommends the authorization of the County Judge (or designee) to acknowledge/sign the Participation Agreement (attached) to enroll the project under the Williamson County Regional Habitat Conservation Plan WCCF File #202512022 and to sign any related documents as may be required.
