Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on the engagement of the law firm of Howry Breen & Herman, LLP to represent Williamson County relating to the case of Jason Nassour and Robert Chody v. Shawn Dick, José Garza, Michael Waldman, Dexter Gilford, Williamson County, and Travis County, Civil Action No. 6:26-cv-00462-CRW (W.D. Tex., Waco Division); and provide legal counsel and advice to Williamson County, to the members of the Williamson County Commissioners Court, and its employees on litigation matters and non-litigation matters in relation to civil, administrative and other legal matters that may arise from time to time, if the scope of which is agreed to by Howry Breen & Herman, LLP and confirmed by the Williamson County Commissioners Court or its Office of General Counsel in writing at the time of assignment; and exemption of these services from the competitive bid/proposal requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code § 262.024(a)(4).
