Reason for Recommended Action/Background

In 2017 the Yolo County Board of Supervisors directed staff to conduct an Agricultural Worker Needs Assessment. Following the conclusion of this study in 2018, staff implemented a variety of programming aimed at supporting the local agricultural workforce, including the creation of agricultural workforce convening, using a pool of Rural Innovation Funding to support agricultural workers at new County Service Centers and Satellite Offices, and offering an extensive array of COVID supports for the agricultural community. This informational update is being provide to inform the Board on work that has been completed to date and to receive board feedback and direction on where staff efforts should be directed in the future.
