Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County District Attorney's office is providing a summary of activities involving the Community Prosecutor Program, which was started using Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant funds. We are providing this summary as a requirement to close the grant with the Department of Justice.
Grant funds were used to fund the Community Prosecutor Program from January 1,2020 to June 30, 2021. This program involves 3 Deputy District Attorneys with one assigned to Woodland, one assigned to Davis, and one assigned to West Sacramento. The attached summary will outline just some of the activities each prosecutor is performing in these cities.
The District Attorney's Office no longer receives these grant funds but continues to be dedicated to the Community Prosecutor Program as it has been very successful.
