Recommended Action
Adopt budget resolution approving expenditure authority within the fiscal year 2024-25 budget of $65,100 from the Telecommunications Internal Service Fund for the installation of communications conduit and fiber optic cable to County buildings within the City of Davis, and to the Yolo County Landfill.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Yolo County Innovation & Technology Services is dedicated to the continuous expansion and enhancement of the county's data network. This proposal aims to extend the existing infrastructure to create a more robust and redundant data network within the City of Davis. Astound Broadband already possesses an extensive communications infrastructure in Davis. Engaging another provider would necessitate the construction of a nearly identical infrastructure, resulting in significantly higher costs compared to this proposal.
