Appoint boards of education members, unified school districts governing board members, fire protection district commissioners, and county water district directors in-lieu of conducting an election. (No general fund impact) (Salinas)
Recommended Action
- Approve and accept the Certificate of Facts, indicating the number of persons who filed a declaration of candidacy did not exceed the number of offices to be filled at the November 5, 2024 General Election for members of boards of education, school district governing board members, fire protection district commissioners, and county water district directors (see Attachment A); and
- Appoint the following nominees to the positions set forth below:

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Certificates of Facts (Attachment A) include the results of the contests wherein the number of persons who filed a declaration of candidacy did not exceed the number of offices to be filled at the election. This recommended action completes the procedure for an appointment in-lieu of election due to insufficient nominees for the November 5, 2024 General Election.
