Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000 (CKH Act) mandated that LAFCos become independent agencies from their counties. The Yolo LAFCo office has since remained in the County Administration Building and the County has continued to provide various administrative services and office space to LAFCo in the same manner as County departments. The purpose of this MOU is to memorialize this existing arrangement and practice for the provision of office space and administrative services by the County, and payment by LAFCo for these services.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
