Reason for Recommended Action/Background

Colusa County entered into an agreement with Ralph L Keeley III on September 1, 2013, on behalf of the Colusa County Department of Child Support Services. The lease was extended multiple times on August 9, 2016, March 6, 2018, and December 17, 2019, with Colusa County before the Colusa, Sutter, Yolo Regional Child Support Agency (RCSA) was formed in January 2021.  The Colusa lease expired for the same location on February 28, 2022, and Yolo County entered into an agreement from March 1, 2022, through June 30, 2026.

Yolo County is the lead county for the RCSA. As such, contracts for the RCSA are held by Yolo County. The extension of this lease allows the Colusa office of the RCSA to remain in their current location through June 30, 2028. The current contract included $3,300 monthly rent through June 30, 2026, and a $12,000 maximum building improvement cost.  Building improvements were already completed and paid for in 2022.  The amendment extends the term and increases the rent to $3,500 monthly from July 1, 2026-June 30, 2028. The contract maximum for the period of March 1, 2022-June 30, 2028 is $267,600.

The RCSA anticipated the extension to the original lease and has already included the additional cost in its FY 2026-27 requested budget.

Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
