Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Yolo County Victim Services receives the Victim/Witness Assistance grant from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. They have been receiving this grant for 40+ years. For the grant period October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2025 we had unused federal grant funds due to positions being vacant during FY2024-25. We were able to submit a budget modification in time to purchase computers for staff in the unit. It has been approximately 5 to 6 years since Victim Services received new computers.
Funding was not budgeted in FY 2025-26 for the purchase of computers.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
The Yolo County District Attorney's Office Victim Services unit works closely with all local law enforcement agencies, Yolo County Emergency Services, & Community Based Organizations to provide comprehensive services to all victims of crime.

We were able to submit a budget modification in FY25/26 to purchase computers for staff in Victim Services.
