Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On July 11, 2023, the Board received an update on drought response and terminated the local emergency drought proclamation. Following extensive public testimony, the Board directed staff to return by September 12, 2023, and provide the Board various options related to increased groundwater protections.

- Update on groundwater conditions, dry wells, and groundwater level recovery
- Review of options currently under exploration by the County and YSGA staff
- Update on Yolo Subbasin Groundwater Agency's efforts to establish and articulate the "Areas of Special Concern" map
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
Staff has collaborated with the Yolo Subbasin Groundwater Agency ("YSGA"), the Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, local groundwater users, County consultants (Ludorff & Scalmanini), and YSGA consultants (West Yost) on this item.
