Recommended Action
- Adopt resolution granting the District Attorney and/or Chief Deputy District Attorney authority to accept, on behalf of Yolo County, $447,693 in grant funds from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services; and
- Authorize the District Attorney and/or Chief Deputy District Attorney to execute the grant award agreement, including any and all amendments or extensions.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County District Attorney's Office has been receiving the Victim Witness Assistance Program grant for 42 years. This is a non-competitive grant that we apply for each year.
The Yolo County Victim Service Unit is designated as the only agency in the County to provide comprehensive services to victims of crimes. Services provided include services outlined in the Penal Code section 13835, Marsy's Law, crisis intervention, emergency assistance, attending court dates with victims, etc. This unit has a dedicated Senior Victim Services Program Assistant to be the point of contact in any incident involving mass victimization.

Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
The Yolo County District Attorney's Victim Services Unit works closely with all local law enforcement agencies, Yolo County Office of Emergency Services, and Community Based Organizations to provide comprehensive services to victims of all crimes.

Funding was included in the DA FY25/26 budget and approved with Recommended Budget on 6/10/25 by the Board of Supervisors.
