Reason for Recommended Action/Background
In October 2021, Community Corrections Partnership began funding the Mental Health Diversion Program. The goal of this program is to address the needs of an underserved population living with mental illness and involved in the criminal justice system. The program addresses the needs of individuals who have committed crimes based on their mental illness, including substance-use disorders.
Agreement No. 24-267, approved September 24, 2024, authorized CommuniCare+OLE to continue providing the services from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 with a maximum amount of $339,159. The Agreement allows for the option to extend the agreement for two (2) one (1) year extensions. These extensions include the amount of the agreement and terms. The District Attorney is asking to exercise the first one-year extension (Att. A) through June 30, 2026 and further requesting to amend the Agreement by increasing the maximum amount to $752,385, an increase of $413,226 (Att. B).
