A. Annual agreements with the California Crop Improvement Association (CCIA), California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), and the California Rice Commission (CRC) are currently signed by the Yolo County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of County of Weights and Measures as authorized by Resolution No. 21-06 adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 26, 2021.  The proposed resolution continues the authorization for fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Current revenue agreements are listed below; it's anticipated that revenue for these programs will remain at or near the 2021-22 funding level for the next several years:
  1. CCIA, Seed Certification Program: FY2021-22 revenue of $13,616 for the inspection of harvest operations to maintain the quality of certified seed produced in Yolo County.

  2. CDFA, Certified Farmers Market Agreement: FY2021-22 revenue of up to $5,168 to conduct farmers market inspections as requested by CDFA.

Executed agreements will be placed on file with the Clerk of the Board.

B. The Yolo County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures is currently authorized by Resolution No. 21-06 to sign amendments and revenue agreements. The proposed resolution modifies the authorization for fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25 to allow the Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures to execute any amendments to the listed agreements. This provides the Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures the flexibility required to effectively respond to unanticipated program changes.
