Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo Youth Commission was established by the Board of Supervisors on May 10, 2022, as a two-year pilot program (Resolution No. 22-59). This two-year Youth Commission program is a partnership between the Yolo County Office of Education and Yolo County. The Youth Commission has three (3) residents per district ranging from 13 to 18 years of age, for a total of 15 youth commissioners. The youth reside in one of the five (5) Supervisorial Districts of Yolo County. Commissioners are appointed for a one-year term and may be reappointed for one additional one-year term.
On October 10, 2023, the Youth Commission recommended, and the Board of Supervisors approved the following as the first YEA! Grant recipients.
