Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On February 27, 2024, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors approved the G23 Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Law Enforcement Grant Agreement with the California State Department of Parks and Recreation. The grant agreement term is from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, and approves the purchase of two All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and one trailer that will replace current equipment nearing its end of life usefulness. However, only the ATVs were added to the Authorized Equipment List for FY 2023-24 when the item went to the Board of Supervisors for approval. After review, the Sheriff's Office determined that a dual-axle trailer was more appropriate to fulfill the needs of the OHV Program. California State Parks has approved this modification. The Sheriff's Office now requests approval of the budget resolution to move $9,675 from the major object Services and Supplies to the major object Equipment for the trailer purchase. Sufficient grant funds remain in the FY 2024-25 Approved Patrol Budget Unit to fund the purchase of this item.
Because the item is a fixed asset, the Sheriff's Office is also requesting Board authority to amend the 2024-25 Authorized Equipment List.
Because the item is a fixed asset, the Sheriff's Office is also requesting Board authority to amend the 2024-25 Authorized Equipment List.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
County Counsel has approved the attached resolution as to form. Purchasing will assist with the procurement of the fixed assets.
