Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Staff proposes to amend the Personnel Rules and Regulations to update the POST special compensation codes for unrepresented employees to confirm with CalPERS requirements regarding the same. These special compensation codes were approved by the Board on March 12, 2024. A draft of these changes is attached (Attachment A). The changes appear at p.55 in Attachment A in the paragraph entitled "POST Certificate Pay."
The proposed changes only apply to unrepresented employees. No new compensation will be provided to employees; rather, these changes are being made to ensure that previously provided employee compensation meets CalPERS’ pensionable requirements.
