The Yolo County Health Council was established by the Board of Supervisors to advise and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and to the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency on matters impacting health systems and health outcomes for the community. Specifically, the Health Council undertakes the following broad activities:
The Health Council meets monthly except in August and December. It is comprised of 25 voting members including Board-appointed community members, designated representatives from the County’s health systems, and representatives of other County health advisory committees. Each year, it provides an annual report to the Board of Supervisors.
Our Vision: A Yolo County where everyone has equitable opportunity to be healthy. Our Mission: Yolo County Health Council is a stakeholder advisory body to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors that drives advances in health equity, health education, resource distribution, and poverty reduction to improve the health of Yolo County. Core Values: Yolo County Health Council recognizes the importance of health education, social justice, eliminating health disparities among historically marginalized populations, stimulating inclusive dialogue and action toward Health in All policy advancement, and reduction of the deleterious effects of social structures that perpetuate poor health outcomes. |
