Explanation: Converts one (1) vacant limited-term Emergency Preparedness Program Coordinator from limited term to regular. This conversion was inadvertently omitted from the Adopted Budget process and is intended as a clean-up item at this time.

Source of Funds: CalAIM and General Fund
Explanation: Reestablishes former classification of Assistant Superintendent of the Juvenile Detention Facility and salary range to align with current operational needs.  Reallocates one (1) regular vacant full-time position from Probation Division Manager to Assistant Superintendent.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.
  • Board Intern/Management Intern/Job Intern Trainee/Page/Work Experience Student — Increases the salary to keep pace with the state minimum wage increase to $16.90/hour, effective January 1, 2026. 
  • Emergency Preparedness Program Coordinator — converts from limited term to regular. Funding for this position comes for General Funds and a variety of grants. 
  • Director of Communications — establishes a new class and salary range and reallocates from a Public Information Officer. Funding for this reallocation was included as part of the adopted budget. 
  • Assistant Superintendent of the Juvenile Detention Facility — reestablishes a former classification and salary range and reallocates from a Probation Division Manager, which was approved at adopted budget. This action will result in annual savings of $21,952.
