Reason for Recommended Action/Background
See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.
Sheriff’s Office - Reallocates one (1) regular full-time Sheriff’s Human Resources Technician to Departmental Human Resources Coordinator following a classification review conducted by Human Resources, and reclassifies the current incumbent in accordance with the County’s Personnel Rules and Regulations (PRRs).
The position is funded with a combination of General Fund and Proposition 172 revenues. Proposition 172 is a semi-discretionary public safety funding source treated largely as General Fund for budgeting purposes. The Sheriff’s Management budget unit has projected a $42,000 year-end surplus at midyear; as the cost of this action is less than that amount, the department will absorb the increase within its current adopted budget and is not requesting additional appropriations.
