Reason for Recommended Action/Background
According to Penal Code §933 and 933.05, the respondents named in a Grand Jury report are required to respond in writing to the Grand Jury's Findings and Recommendations. The final 2025-2026 Grand Jury report, published on June 18, 2026, requested the Board of Supervisors to provide responses to its Findings and Recommendations regarding reports on Homelessness and Animal Services within 90 days. The attached documents represent the responses from the Board of Supervisors, Health & Human Services Agency, and the Department of Community Services. The Yolo County Sheriff responded under separate cover to the report regarding the County's Detention Facilities, titled 2025-26 Yolo County Civil Grand Jury Report: Detention Facilities Correctional Officer Staffing Issues Continue.
