An Ordinance Increasing The Water Rates In Section 934.02 Of The Codified Ordinances Of Huber Heights.

Purpose and Background

Following discussion at the City Council Work Session on December 6, 2022, City Council instructed City Staff to prepare legislation to increase the water rates by 7.5%, beginning with the February 1, 2023 billings, to collect an estimated $500,000 to use for engineering and design of a total of $4 million of water main replacement to begin in 2023. The increase would raise the water portion of an average monthly utility bill by $2.66. City Staff recommend the second reading be waived and this legislation be adopted at the December 15, 2022 City Council Meeting so that the rate increase will be effective beginning February 1, 2023.
